The Outdoors - one of my passions. There is everything to do in California. Why not ski the slopes of Big Bear then surf the big waves in OC a few hours later? I've discovered ocean kayaking and scuba diving. Right off the coast of Oxnard are the northern Channel Islands. It's a National Park, and world-class diving and I just had to try it. Little me - afraid of swimming in the deep ocean, now descending to 60 feet. Once you see for yourself that in fact there are not giant sea monsters swimming around your feet waiting to eat you, it's all good!

I like all kinds of adventure activities though. I tried skydiving in January '06 (loved it!) and I would like to try backpacking and white-water rafting.

I'm a member and officer in the Great Outdoors, Southern California's gay outdoor recreation club. There are five chapters in Southern California and I have made some really great friends and have experienced so many breath-taking places. If you are interested in checking it out, go to www.greatoutdoors.org/sb We frequently do camping trips, night hikes, potlucks, and day trips (to botanical gardens, LotusLand, Hearst Castle, etc). The trips are always full of great friends and fun.
