The Most Spectacular Natural Sight
01/Oct/07 00:03
I'm sitting here on the late plane from Chicago back
to LA, staring into the blackness beyond my window,
and on the horizon, I see flashes of lightning in the
shape of small hemisperes of diffuse strobing light.
The flashes are sporadic, but are every three to
eight seconds between flashes. Simetimes there are
two ot three separate flashes at the same time in
different places. One time, almost my whole visual
horizon lit up.
The frequency of the lightning is getting shorter. Now, it's usual to see flashes in five different places, the bursts are relentless! As we fly closer to the storms, the lightning illuminates some of the ground. We are near Kansas and Colorado.
This is one of the most spectacular things I've ever seen.
